When the Marone Cinzano family arrived at Col d’Orcia in 1973, the large Slavonian oak casks were still full of the last Brunello vintage awaiting bottling, the 1968. In the cellar, there were many bottles from 1966 and even a few from 1965. Sixty years later, some of those bottles are still preserved in the Library, which over the decades has become the richest and most complete in Montalcino.
Dozens of Brunello vintages, from the most iconic to the less celebrated, amounting to tens of thousands of bottles of Brunello, Riserva, and Poggio al Vento, capable of telling the story of Sangiovese Grosso and surprising with their integrity and depth. Our Library is the liquid memory of our land, of its changes and its uniqueness.
